FAQ - Porcelain Veneers
Commonly Asked Questions in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
What are porcelain veneers?
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom crafted veneers that are permanently bonded to the front of your teeth to correct minor structural flaws and provide a clean, bright new tooth surface and smile.
Can porcelain veneers correct chipped and cracked teeth?
Yes. Porcelain veneers are an excellent choice for minor flaws and faults in your tooth enamel.
What about structural problems, such as crooked teeth and gaps?
Porcelain veneers are an excellent option to correct structural problems with your teeth, including crookedness, gaps, and unevenly sized and shaped teeth.
How long does the veneer procedure take?
The procedure to have porcelain veneers fitted takes place over two office visits. During your first visit, the surface of your teeth will be prepared, and we will take a custom mold of your teeth that we will use to create your custom veneers. During your second visit with us, your newly created porcelain veneers will be fitted and adhered to your teeth.
How long will my veneers last?
With proper care and maintenance, porcelain veneers can last ten years or even longer.
Will my porcelain veneers stain like tooth enamel?
No. Porcelain veneers are harder and less permeable than tooth enamel, so your porcelain veneers should retain their bright white finish much better than natural tooth enamel.
